You Belong to the Gov't (But I don't Sucker)

Remember at the DNC 2012 back in September of this year?  There was the video above that played on the big screens to the attendees.  The now infamous line from that video states, "Government is the one thing that we all belong to."

 No reaction from intellectuals anywhere.  No understanding of the founding principles of this country and how that line is more akin to the Marx or Lenin.  People are either so 'dumbed down' because of the educational system failure.  Or they are apathetic.  Or they agree with that line.  If they agree with that line then they are on the slippery slope toward despotism and dictatorship. 

 The government belongs to us.  We own it.  It is a thing and it is supposed to remain a small thing in our lives.  Allowing it to get big makes our freedom and liberty small.  Obviously, it is BIG.  And look at the power it swings around.  There are plenty of articles discussing the math of how much of GDP that federal spending accounts for.  And Heritage Foundation has done plenty of work pointing out the power grab that Obamacare makes into all of our lives.

 Where do we go from here?  How can we stop this juggernaut?  Can it be stopped?  Can true American values make a comeback?

The DEATH Penalty and being Christian

Can I be a 100% sold out born again Christian AND also support capital punishment (death penalty)?  I believe the answer is yes. From a Biblical and moral position, the book of Leviticus allows for the death penalty. There's even an allowance that if your own child curses the name of the parent, you as the parent can stone them to death. Yikes! I think that God was putting that one in knowing how hard that would be and giving humans the opportunity to show mercy.  Yes, but it is also still there. But the New Testament has put mercy over the law, one would say.  Jesus came as fulfillment of the law, and yes his one sacrifice on the cross eliminates the sacrificial system.  Isn't it interesting that for thousands of years the Jews made sacrifices to God, and then after the Romans destroy the temple there have not been sacrifices since?
