Liberal Tolerance Seems So...Well, Intolerant and Hateful

Facebook is the gift that keeps on giving me fodder for thought.  I have to cut and paste a comment thread from a picture that I shared on October 7, 2012.  The photo shows Mitt Romney's father marching with civil rights leaders.  

 Here it is (I've scrubbed the names to protect the guilty):

    • PWF2150 Really, JM? Mitt and his father are the husband to one wife, as is Obama to Michelle. Historical evidence is clear - it was the Republican Party that put forward and fought for civil rights. It was always the Democrat Party that voted against - always.

    • YM Robert Bird was in the KKK. He was a democrat! Perhaps you should actually look at history. The KKK was full of democrats since the Reconstructed governments in the South were controlled by Republicans. Guess you must have slept through history class ah?

    • JM YM know YOUR history. The republican and democrat parties have shifted dramatically. The original democrat party became the republican party. The democratic party today is vastly different. Maybe we should be talking conservative/liberal. @Paul. Unlike the Christian radical right I am tolerant. I can care.less how many wives anyone has. I was only attempting to point out the conservative hipocracy. Don't try and say conservatives, most of them, are tolerant. If that were country clubs like agustus would have let blacks and women become members long ago.

YM Wow! You scare me. For your information, I have a Masters degree in history. Do you?



Notice how JM jumps right in to insult Mitt Romney's father for having multiple wives as per Mormon doctrine, and which the modern Mormon church publicly denounces.  I don't even know what JM means by, "always???"  Always what?

 I call him on it right away to point out that they are all the husband to one wife.  

 The historical record is clear, the Republican Party started as direct opposition to the Missouri Compromise allowing new territories to decide whether or not they wanted to be admitted as free or slave state.  The southern states flooded armed pro-slavery agitators into the new western territories such as Kansas to control the direction of 'free' elections.  This led to armed skirmishes.  Kansas was referred to as 'Bloody Kansas' for a time due to the death toll.

 It is the Republican Party that opposed slavery and fought on the right side of history to end it in America.  And in our modern times it has been the Republican Party that opposed the KKK.  The KKK was an arm of the Dixie-crat Democrats in the vanquished south.  That's right, liberals the Democrat party opposed desegregation and accepted the KKK.

 When I point out JM's religious bigotry, he claims to be pointing out conservative 'hipocracy.'  How does insulting Mitt Romney's religious beliefs point out conservative hypocrisy?  I think it is clear that he was being mean spirited from the get go.  Because when libs see their plans going down the tubes, they always resort to name calling and insulting.  I mean always.

 Notice the rewrite on history.  JM truly thinks that the rascist Democrat party became the modern era Republican party.  And this person is an educator!  Need I say anymore.

 (Note:  Welfare promoted by liberals as rascist control would be a good subject for a future post - maybe.)

The DEATH Penalty and being Christian

Can I be a 100% sold out born again Christian AND also support capital punishment (death penalty)?  I believe the answer is yes. From a Biblical and moral position, the book of Leviticus allows for the death penalty. There's even an allowance that if your own child curses the name of the parent, you as the parent can stone them to death. Yikes! I think that God was putting that one in knowing how hard that would be and giving humans the opportunity to show mercy.  Yes, but it is also still there. But the New Testament has put mercy over the law, one would say.  Jesus came as fulfillment of the law, and yes his one sacrifice on the cross eliminates the sacrificial system.  Isn't it interesting that for thousands of years the Jews made sacrifices to God, and then after the Romans destroy the temple there have not been sacrifices since?
